Hello there. Hope you are having a nice weekend. Found another adware called TopicTron right now while reviewing some files recently submitted to the FreeFixer database. TopicTron appears to be a variant of BrowseFox that I’ve written about before. Since I’ve not tested TopicTron myself, I’m not sure what happens when it is installed, but I assume it will show some ads, labelled “TopicTron Ads”.

Do you know how TopicTron got onto your computer? Please let me know. I guess it was bundled with some free download. I’d like to install it on my lab machine and test it myself.

The VirusTotal is clearly detecting TopicTron. 24 of the anti-malware scanners detected the file. Some of the detection names for TopicTron are Adware.SwiftBrowse.CH, Adware.BrowseFox/Variant, HS_BROWSEFOX.SM and Adware.Yotoon.Win64.14.

I’m sure you’d like to remove TopicTron, and that’s easy with FreeFixer. Just select the files digitally signed by “TopicTron”.
