Just a short post before making dinner. Right now I found another adware while reviewing some of the files in the FreeFixer database. This is yet another BrowseFox variant called Follow Rules.
According to VirusTotal, 40% of the scanners detected the Follow Rules file, which is a pretty good detection rate. Ad-Aware reports it as Adware.SwiftBrowse.CH, Antiy-AVL detects it as GrayWare[NetTool:not-a-virus]/Win64.NetFilter.a, DrWeb classifies it as Tool.NetFilter.313, F-Prot names it W64/A-59c9c70a!Eldorado, TrendMicro calls it HS_BROWSEFOX.SM, VIPRE classifies it as Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT and Zillya calls it Adware.Yotoon.Win64.14.
I’m sure you’d like to remove Follow Rules, and that’s a piece of cake with FreeFixer. Just select the Follow Rules files, they are all digitally signed by “Follow Rules”, so no problem identifying them.
Hope this helped you solved the Follow Rules problem.
Did you also find FollowRules on your machine? Any idea how it was installed? Please share in the comments below. Thank you!
