Remove mnh.unition.org from Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.

This page shows how to remove mnh.unition.org from Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.

Does this sound like what you are seeing right now? You see mnh.unition.org in your web browser’s status bar while browsing web sites that generally don’t load any content from third party domains. Maybe the unition.org domain appear when performing a search at the Google.com search engine?

Here’s how the mnh.unition.org status bar message looked like when I got it on my computer:

mnh.unition.org status bar

The following are some of the status bar messages you may see in your browser’s status bar:

  • Waiting for mnh.unition.org…
  • Transferring data from mnh.unition.org…
  • Looking up mnh.unition.org…
  • Read mnh.unition.org
  • Connected to mnh.unition.org…

Does this sound like what you see your machine, you almost certainly have some adware installed on your machine that makes the mnh.unition.org domain appear in your browser. So there’s no idea contacting the owner of the site you were browsing. The mnh.unition.org status bar messages are not coming from them. I’ll try help you to remove the mnh.unition.org status bar messages in this blog post. This is done by removing the unwanted adware from your machine.

I found mnh.unition.org on one of the lab machines where I have some adware running. I’ve talked about this in some of the previous blog posts. The adware was installed on purpose, and from time to time I check if anything new has appeared, such as pop-up windows, new tabs in the browsers, injected ads on site that usually don’t show ads, or if some new files have been saved to the hard-drive.

mnh.unition.org resolves to the 108.162.207.52 address and unition.org to 141.101.124.52. mnh.unition.org was created on 2014-09-12. The WHOIS database is not of much use, sinceĀ unition.org is protected by the “WhoisProtectService.net PROTECTSERVICE, LTD”.

So, how do you remove mnh.unition.org from your browser? On the machine where mnh.unition.org showed up in the status bar I had TinyWallet, BlockAndSurf and BrowserWarden installed. I removed them with FreeFixer and that stopped the web browser from loading data from mnh.unition.org.

The issue with statusbar messages such as this one is that it can be caused by many variants of adware. This makes it impossible to say exactly what you need to remove to stop the status bar messages.

Anyway, here’s my suggestion for the mnh.unition.org removal:

The first thing I would do to remove mnh.unition.org is to examine the software installed on the machine, by opening the “Uninstall programs” dialog. You can reach this dialog from the Windows Control Panel. If you are using one of the more recent versions of Windows Operating System you can just type in “uninstall” in the Control Panel’s search field to find that dialog:
Uninstall a program search

Click on the “Uninstall a program” link and the Uninstall programs dialog will open up:

Do you see something suspicious in there or something that you don’t remember installing? Tip: Sort on the “Installed On” column to see if some program was installed approximately about the same time as you started seeing the mnh.unition.org status bar messages.

Then I would check the browser add-ons. Adware often appear under the add-ons menu in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari. Is there anything that looks suspicious? Anything that you don’t remember installing?

I think most users will be able to track down and remove the adware with the steps outlined above, but in case that did not work you can try the FreeFixer removal tool to identify and remove the adware. FreeFixer is a freeware tool that I’ve developed since 2006. Freefixer is a tool built to manually find and uninstall unwanted software. When you’ve tracked down the unwanted files you can simply tick a checkbox and click on the Fix button to remove the unwanted file.

FreeFixer’s removal feature is not locked like many other removal tools out there. It will not require you to pay for the program just when you are about to remove the unwanted files.

And if you’re having troubles figuring out if a file is clean or adware in FreeFixer’s scan result, click on the More Info link for the file. That will open up a web page which contains more information about the file. On that web page, check out the VirusTotal report which can be quite useful:

Thank you!

  1. trying to get rid of MNH.unition.org and I didn’t see where it came up in the free fixer scan? I have had adware / malware issues over the past few months and have had the computer professionally scrubbed once and still get the phishing attacks notice from google chrome and have the waiting on MHN.unition.org when I try to open emails from a microsoft exchange program through google chrome? Please help if possible.
    Thanks

  2. Thanks for this, unfortunately nothing seemed to help. I have no malicious looking programs to uninstall (latest is firefox), i have 2 google chrome extensions which i disabled to test, cleared browser data , and scanned with your freefixer program as well as AVG. This is only in google chrome btw, console shows nothing in firefox. Every page shows a GET request in chrome console to mnh.unition.org. Also, some links that open pop-up windows get hijacked and I get spammy looking warnings about updating software. I’m at a loss.

  3. Unfortunately this did not work for me. The problem only happens with Chrome browser. I posted on Google’s forums as well. I used, at their suggestion the Chrome Software Removal Tool. It scans for malicious software (it didn’t find any) and resets Chrome. After running the tool and resetting Chrome the problem was gone. However, as soon as I restarted Chrome, it reappeared.

  4. I had the same problem. I could not detect it with the scanner, so I put mnh.unition.org in my hosts file, redirecting to local machine, solved šŸ˜‰

    127.0.0.1 mnh.unition.org

  5. I have the problem with MNH.unition.org, as well, and would be happy to receive any advice regarding have to remove it pemanently!
