Did you just find something called PDF to Word Converter 1.4 from Green Tree Applications SRL in the uninstall programs list?

Or did you see a file called PDFToWordConverterUpdateChecker.exe running in the Windows Task Manager and wonder where it came from?

It’s possible that you got it while installing something from CNet’s Download.com web site. That’s where I found it. Here it is disclosed in the installer, under the PDFtoWordConverter name:

The screenshot explains what the software does. I skimmed through the EULA, and I could not see that it would show any ads on the installed system. Please let me know if I missed something.
