Every time my desktop freezes, I notice that "HP Active Health" is working in "Task Manager". I don't know if "Active Health" is working to solve the freeze problem, or if it's causing the freeze. All I can do is wait, and after a few minutes everything is working fine, and "Active Health" disappears from "Task Manager".

I have the same issue. There was an HP update and this issue began to occur on my system. I have done some investigation and this seems to be the issue. Please tell me how to disable.

The same here (Win 10). I notice that disk activity goes to 100% and goes forever (more than I can wait). To stop it I use Task Manager/Details to kill ActiveHealth.exe. The only HP device in my setup is HP OfficeJet Printer. I really don't nee HP to check my system. How to prevent this feature before it kicks?

I have same issue with a Win 7 system. I will probably remove anything that has HP Support in the name from the system.

The last fix on 12/27-28 was the culprit. No direct response from HP. I removed all things HP and the problem cleared. there is also a huge drop in system processing overhead.

I found a discussion about ActiveHealth.exe over at HP's support forum, where a user reports that activehealth.exe uses massive amount of I/O until the PC freezes and requires a re-boot. When in safe mode, he does not see the IO problem.

Another user comes in and answers like this:

"The HP Active Health.exe monitors your computer to assure that it is running properly. I believe the way to fix your problem is to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant here. You should choose the correct version for your computer."

Does the freeze problem go away if you install the latest version of HP Support Assistant?
