etcall.exe is provided by Gigabyte. On my machine, it is bundled with the software for the motherboard. The application that uses this is called EasyTune 6. It is a motherboard tweaking tool used mainly for overclocking processors. I have had this app on my machine for about 6 months without any problem and have used 3 different anti-virus programs without any alarms. Thank you.

ETcall is part of Gigabyte's (motherboard) Easytune application and is distributed on the DVD that ships with the motherboard.
From the pdf:
"GIGABYTE's EasyTune 6 is a simple and easy-to-use interface that allows users to fine-tune their
system settings or do overclock/overvoltage in Windows environment. The user-friendly EasyTune 6
interface also includes tabbed pages for CPU and memory information, lettings users read their system-related
information without the need to install additional software."
Generally you would only use this occasionally to "tune" or "overclock" your system. There is no need to start it every time you boot. In fact, unless you you are familiar with the intricacies of overclocking, I recommend you leave it alone and do not run this program.

On my GIGABYTE GA-945GZM-S2 motherboard, under Windows 7 X64, the program seems to stuff the LAN driver. Mine is associated with GIGABYTE's EasyTune 5.
