I was looking for a newer version of ezdesk as I've had this copy for many years so I did a search, I was shocked to see sites for 'removal tools' and 'the problems of the .exe file, well, for what it's worth, I've been using ezdesk since Win95 days, then with Win 98, ME, 2000 and now with XP (still with XP cos I like it although I do have Win7 in the box for the future) and I still use ezdesk.

I fire it up when needed, let it do the snapshot, save it and then close it down, anytime from then onwards irrespective of how the desktop is altered about, if you want it back as it was, click restore etc and Hey Presto ... there it is back to how it was - I always rated this little prog - and still do!

I find it very useful and it's never gave any problem ever - honest, I'm not just saying that or talking bananas, and, I don't know the person or people behind it, just a happy punter. I've meant to register over the years and send the odd few notes asked for a Reg Version but, with one thing and another, never got round to it, but, it's probably one of the widgets which you should pay for - cos it's Good!

Like TC, I've used this program since Win95 days, and install it to run automatically when Windows starts. I did register it, around 1998 or so, but a disk crash lost my installation and I've misplaced my floppy so now must use the Eval version. I'm perfectly willing to register it again, but have not managed to locate Melissa's current address to do so. Does anyone know it? (I distrust PayPal and other 3rd-party payment processors.)
