This is an annoying pop up, it keeps coming up and saying "this operating system is not supported by this application." The title of this is GREG. I don't know what to do. Can this file be deleted without harming the operating system? This happened after I upgraded the OS from Win 7 to Win 8 pro.

I think GREGsvc.exe is a program that shows dialog where you can register your computer with Acer. From the error message it sounds like the GREGsvc.exe is not compatible with Windows 8. There should be an item in the Add/Remove programs dialog in the Windows Control Panel where you can uninstall GREGsvc.exe, possibly under the name "Acer Registation" or something like that.

Did this solve the problem?

Thank you. Following advice to remove this, yes, annoying popup. Started after upgrading my Gateway laptop from Win7 to Win8, uninstalled via Programs and Features "Gateway Registration".
