We're visiting freefixer.com today to find a way to uninstall Greekbuddy. How do we uninstall it? We've previously used Comodo's free firewall and was quite impressed. (Not, however, by the paid version!?) When we installed Comodo on a revamped installation on a PC, we removed the check mark allowing Comodo to install Geekbuddy at the same time. What a surprise; Geekbuddy was installed anyway! Could not find any way at all to uninstall Geekbudy, so we uninstalled Comodo's firewall. After hours of effort, Geekbuddy is still on the PC. We did stop the processes, however. The files are also protected from being deleted. Is Comodo's firewall still as good was it was when we used it previously? We will never know unless they break the link between these programs. Is Geekbuddy something that we would like to have and use? We will never know, because we don't use programs which are invasive, require lots of resources, and refuse the administrator's orders. Phooey. Will miss Comodo firewall.

I voted for it as malware. If it installs when we have explicitly chosen 'no', has no visible means of removal (especially uninstalling), keeps running when processes are stopped, is an 'in-your-face program which places the link in the custom notification area w/o possibility of removal, etc, then GEEKBUDDY IS MALWARE for my purposes. Also, the information that is missing as you've described in the comparison of legit and malware makes it malware. I am considering your tool for removal.

You also have a survey between 32-bit and 64 bit for which there is not a choice which fits my (and others') situation. That is, I have both. The newest machines, however, are 64-bit.

Like your site. Hadn't been here before! Will now look at the tool info! Thank you.

@Jan: It appears GeekBuddy is a remote control software that uses a Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology to allow Comodo's support personel to remotely access your PC's settings and files for support purposes. From their web site I can see that they charge $199 for support during one year.

I assume that GeekBuddy can be uninstalled from the Windows Control Panel's remove program dialog. Can you see GeekBuddy there and uninstall it?

If not, I'll try to install GeekBuddy myself and figure out how to remove it.

I found no way to uninstall geekbuddy, but I found the directory under; OS(C:)-Program Files (x86)-Common Files-COMODO and I went into the folder containing geekbuddy and just deleted everything there. It seemed to have got rid of any problems for me.

my super antispyware has identified it (not good or bad) if I open it up and get to the file in my computer (I already took out most of the geekbuddy/comodo) it won't let me delete out the last file, (2,425 or so kb) because it is "active" on their server .
