Thanks, Roger, for this site. I was trying to get additional info on the Google Update file which actually was blocked by my ZoneAlarm firewall. I found your site very helpful and easy to understand.

@Ib: Just to make sure you have a legitimate copy of GoogleUpdateOnDemand.exe, please check that the file has a valid digital signature from Google Inc. You can do that by right-clicking on the file and checking the signature under the "Digital Signatures" tab.
