RunUpd.exe is a program from Gigabyte that checks for utility updates for there motherboards. It starts with windows and runs in the background and checks either daily weekly or monthly for utility updates for software you installed from the gigabyte motherboard installation disc. It is harmless and only needs to be uninstalled if you have a low powered system and can't afford to have the extra process running in the back ground.
