I have a new Lenovo T540p and downloaded Skype. I looked up info on TpKNrres.exe as a result of opening up Skype and getting a message which stated "Your PC is attempting to use TpKNrres.exe Click Allow or Disallow". I'm naturally allergic to allowing anything to run on my machines and so ignored both options and conducted the Skype session successfully. I'm now wondering if (a) the msg was authentic (b) if I need TpKNrres.exe at all?
