This service often runs on my machine (Dell Latitude E7440) wasting 25% CPU power. I fire up ProcessExplorer when this happens and kill the process with no negative impact. What in the world is it doing?

Hi Sean, I have the same problem also a Dell Latitude. I wish someone would answer your question I would like to know too! I am killing the process using task manager but would like to know how I stop it permanently assuming it is ok to do so.

I found this process using around 33% CPU today on a very new XPS 13 (9343) - killed it and haven't had an audio issue yet (via USB docking station).
I've disabled the process as a startup task and will monitor for impacts for a few weeks and if I've encountered no issues at the time will likely uninstall the application completely.

Did anyone find out what this program/process actually does?

Having the same problem with this and it uses a lot of cpu. Says in Task Mgr the load is High for it. All of these ought to come with explanation in Task Mgr to know to trash it or not. Millions of hours wasted searching the net is counterproductive. Am disabling it.
Computer makers should be forced to list all the junk on their computers in a way that we can opt out of them. Essential for what, nonessential, etc. This has been a long time problem, too long. This is a brand new Dell Inspiron 3000 and it's winding out like a Kawasaki at 200 MPH too much.
