AVAST just updated itself on my old XP system, and WinPatrol is now warning me that aswidsagent.exe wants to run on startup, and that it is located in the AVAST folder. So- definitely AVAST, but it is a change from the previous update. This is the first I've ever seen of aswidsagent.

I'm losing my love for AVAST, so I may uninstall, but the file in question is not a virus.

I have the same experience as KH today. No aswidsagent.exe on WinXP until avast updated today. Start Avast > Settings > Components > Behavior shield = turn off permanently and aswidsagent.exe goes away. But the status monitoring checkboxes no longer turn off the warning (!) icon on avast icon now...
And another new avast user interface that's even more dumbed-up and again even less functions (or disabled) available to users. I kept hoping avast interface would return somewhat to the old days like 10-15 years ago but i'm giving up.
Getting a new PC next month and installing lavasoft's Adaware. Heard it's just as good with less hassle and no 3rd party junk/spying/doing-whatever.
