i have recently loaded microsoft 7 on my pc...and since then when i am on the internet, and i watch a video clip ... or downloading anything... the pc freezes (BSOD)..and reboots.. when i started it in safe mode... the pc paused a bit longer on the the file in question... so i am finding out a bit more ..not sure if it has anything to do with the freezing or not...researching how to fix the problem...

Just an update. I sorted it in the end by manually editing the extension on each offending AVG file name from .sys to something like .tmp. It didn't work immediately, but the next day it was working. I still can't understand the logic of that. Once it was working again, I had to ininstall and reinstall AVG.

After giving up waiting for my archaic pentium 4 machine running XP to boot, I attempted in safe mode and found this file to loading indefinitely. I have found that half an hour of time and eventually windows loads, safe mode or normal boot. Renamed the file extention and all was good until another update from AVG, the file is back. Also worth noting is my HDD light is continously on and the WD SMART utility fails my disc on RAW read errors.
