I'm currently experiencing that problem; it gets to the welcome page of Vista (after entering my profile password), or sometimes to my desktop, but then freezes. I have got IVT's Blue Soleil Bluetooth software installed... I'm guessing I should try and uninstall it... or should I just remove BtHidBus.sys?

I have been fighting a browser hijack for a week now and just used MS Security Essentials to perform a complete scan of my system. It identified this file as a Aluron virus file and could not sucessfully remove it. When I looked into the /drivers/ dir I found the file, erased it only to have it pop back again in less than 15 seconds. I used to have IVT Blue Soleil Bluetooth software installed on this PC but it was removed over 3 months ago. I am still having various problems with this machine such as rough jobs being added to the Windows Schedule, browser redirects to other search sites rather than google or yahoo, popups and other ads being delivered while surfing. The problems started after a user of this machine downloaded some pirated movies from a download site.

THis one is killing me with its ability to reinfect the machine even after scans by Maleware Bites, Anti Trojan Elite, Spyware Removal Tool Pro, windows defender and now MS Security essentials. Each of these programs have found various tracking programs but none have been able to identify the source until this last scan with MS SE.
