My dpft keeps crashing. While analyzing the task manager (I am a basic user) I tried to open the file location of esif_assist_64, and i get a message that states "the location is not accessible". I am the administrator so I should have access to all files. Could this be why I'm having problems with the dptf crashing?

As Karen Blaskie said above, when attempting to view the containing directory for this file, (C:\Windows\Temp\DPTF) windows will likely display an error related to insufficient permissions. This is simply because the default windows shell process is run with limited (non-administrator) permissions unless the user specifically requests privilege escalation. Under normal circumstances (assuming you have access to administrative permissions), it's possible for the user to navigate to C:\Windows\Temp\DPTF in File Explorer, grant the additional permissions, and view the file.
Unfortunately, it's still unclear whether this binary is malware. From what I've been able to determine, there is certainly a legitimate Intel program with the name esif_assist_64.exe, but it is often targeted by those writing malware as an easy entry point to infect.
I've seen anecdotal reports of this executable behaving as malware but still turning up as "clean" when scanned with VirusTotal (as the one on my system does), so it is advised to treat this file with due scrutiny, perhaps performing scans through multiple anti-malware services, and of course to be aware of the possibility of a "false negative".
