I'm using HitmanPro 3.8.15 - Build 306 (64-bit) and on today's scan it just flagged hmpalert.sys as suspicious!
Removal results:
Scoring (42.0)
The file is hidden from Windows API. This is typical for malware.
The file is completely hidden from view and most antivirus products. It may belong to a rootkit

@Bill: That's strange. Can you see the hmpalert.sys file yourself if you use Windows Explorer. If so, please upload it to VirusTotal for a scan. Does any of the scanners detect anything?

hmpalert.sys should be located in c:\Windows\System32\drivers.
