Along with a number of other people I am finding that iastordatasvc is using at least 30% cpu whenever I switch on.
I want to reinstall a version which behaves as described ie uses only a tiny % cpu time

The question is asked "what is it" but there is no answer all there is its various names and addresses and who owns it.
What is it for what does it do and do I need it.
Please explain simply for the simple minded.

é só ir em gerenciador de tarefas e desativar, ele para de consumir o uso da CPU.

I just removed it, but for me it was not that it consumed the CPU, but it was incorrectly reported by windows it did. When i reboot after uninstallation the CPU usage was switched over to 7-Zip even though it wasn't doing anything in particular. It's a bug in windows, incorrect reporting of CPU usage.
For me i could resolve it the following way (i found this a while back on another site somewhere):
Go to Control Panel - Power Options - Reset or change power plan settings and you might see the CPU usage disappear :)
