I have used trend micro as my security system for several years. My laptop is three years old and not a particularly fast one. In the past few months, only Word occurs without incident! TaskManager reveals that platinum service host is the most frequent high CPU user. I gather from online inquiry that this service host is part of trend micro. I note that a large proportion of users are choosing to remove it from their system. Since I do not know its purpose, I may well do that as I can’t make any progress Internet wise. I should also note that I am using Firefox, and this also has high memory usage.
