Hi,

This is part of Microsoft Windows 'Reusable UX Interaction Manager'.

This appears to be related to the workings of Windows Update.
On my computer (64 bits Windows) it is located in : 'C:\Program Files\RUXIM'

There is an answer by RobinsonSilvestre to the same question on this page : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/what-is-ruxim-w10-21h1/865c5df7-8a18-4478-bfc4-767c12aee33c
which usefully provides a link to a Microsoft Web page which, among a lot of other things, contains a detailed exposition of what this is all about.

You can visit it for more details or if you need a confirmation of all this.
Here is the link to that page on docs.microsoft.com Web site :
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/privacy/required-windows-diagnostic-data-events-and-fields-2004
This page is really long, so once there, to get to the relevant section, just search for string 'RUX'

So this seems to be a legit Microsoft module/program/file, which as such should probably be left alone.

The RUXIM folder is another under-the-radar deliberate Microsoft theft by stealth of user information and data. Don't be fooled, weasel words and a fancy name are a weak disguise for the harvesting of your data. (see below :) )

[The RUXIM Interaction Campaign Scheduler (RUXIMICS.EXE) is used by the Windows Update. When is started the data collected is used to help keep Windows up to date and performing properly.]

Though, with no credible information easily available on the consequences of removing the RUKIM folder, it could be seen as risky to delete. But there are also no reports of adverse outcomes by the many people who have deleted (including myself), so my advice would be to delete RUXIM and give Microsoft nothing.

I had wondered if it was a virus, as I hadn't noticed it before I had changed my firewall to 'ask me to allow or block' a program trying to connect to the web.
Having never seen it before the permission screen came up, I thought it best to research it.
If it is an MS spyware program, I will block it rather than delete it completely and monitor what happens.

Is there any potential harm in blocking this so that it's not trying to communicate with Microsoft any more?
