It is definitely part of a search toolbar virus. Part of SearchProtect, etc. MalwareBytes recognizes it, but can't delete it.

Read elsewhere that ccleaner.exe could remove it, nortons found it last night their additional options could not remove it either. Marked as a virus keeps popping up. will boot safe and try to remove, read an uninstall would work so will attempt uninstall settings manager or anything Aztec.

I started getting this error that says that it is not a valid windows file or it contains errors. C:\program files\setting manager\systemk\x64\sysapcrt.dll began after I upgraded to "Tune Up 3.0.3.2" This was part of a software package that came with my new laptop that I ordered by mail. I am going to try changing it's name first and see if there is any problems after. It seems to be linked to some toolbar at the top of the desktop.

This is part of Linkey created by Aztec Media. This F***ers too wise. They put it on Softonic's Executable Downloader and will be forced to install on your desktop weather you like it or not even if you dont tick the checkbox. This problem came out when i try to delete it on my CCleaner, in my browser add on, and my browser search options.
MArketing tactics, which appears to be a scam one. I got Neurowise too. They put ads on my search results without my consent. Disguised in suggestions.
Should be marked by security companies as scam.

your false advertisment is very disapointing. there is nothing free about it

Uninstalling Systems Manager and Linkey by Aztec and re-booting solved the problem for me. I think I may have picked up these programs when installing FileZilla without paying enough attention to the install options.

If you cant delete it with any antivirus software, pull out the hard drive and put it in a external casing and turn it on. That way windows on that hdd will not load windows, because you are running it before windows on that drive can load. You hook the external to another machine. Then you target that drive letter and do a deep scan and it will remove all virus, spy, mal, ad, and even ransom ware, because it is now just another drive and, cannot load windows after bios starts, your other machine will just see it as a secondary hdd and not the main. Then put the hdd back in the PC, start it up and remove the bad plugins-addons. I use avast and spybot, I have found them to be the better antivirus, ware removal tools. I would not suggest using Norton or Mcfae or any other virus program that is usually already installed on your machine. Same goes for mycleanpc and the others like it, Also Spybot is amazing as far as finding and getting rid of most ware types. If you have a question feel free to email me, at jmcintire82@gmail.com, I have been a tech for 12 years now, so i can lead you in the right direction or just give you a solution right away:)

Also if it is for just this issue you still have to go in and manually or use aprogram to fix this issue, but as far as just removing things. Even those fake ransomware things that claim they are the police or FBI and your comp is locked at startup, my above method will work like a charm.
