Upgraded to Windows 8 and lost my Windows Live Mail and Contacts. I didn't back up Mail or if I did, I can't find it. What do I do?

@Ron: Did you upgrade your existing operating system to Windows 8, or did you install a fresh copy of Windows 8? Did you format your drive or did you leave it unchanged?

Hello, I get this error message:

“The program can’t start because WLDCore.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.” “wlmail.exe – System Error”

Microsoft Community said to go to the default place for wlmail.exe here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Mail\ and then follow directions (or something to that effect) Not sure whether I'll be able to follow tech directions but willing to try...

Problem is I don't know where to find that link. Can someone help please? Thanks ever so much!
