BSS LLC Publisher Overview

Did you just download a file that has been digitally signed by BSS LLC and wonder if the file is safe? If that's the case, please read on.

You will typically see BSS LLC when clicking to run the file. The publisher name is then displayed as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:

You can view the additional details from the BSS LLC digital signature with the following procedure:

1. Open Windows Explorer and locate the BSS LLC file
2. Right-click on the file and select Properties
3. Click the Digital Signatures tab
4. Click the View Certificate button

Here's a screenshot of a file signed by BSS LLC:

As you can see in the screenshot above, Windows states that "This digital signature is OK". This implies that the file has been published by BSS LLC and that no one has tampered with the file.

If you click the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above, you can see all the details of the certificate, such as when it was issued, who issued the certificate, how long it is valid, and so on. You can also view the address for BSS LLC, such as the street name, city and country.

Thawte Code Signing CA - G2 has issued the BSS LLC certificates. You can also see the details of the issuer by clicking the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above.
