Did you just stumble upon a download or a file on your computer that has been digitally signed by neurowise? Some of the security products refers to the detected files as Adware.SwiftBrowse.CH and Generic.DD9. The detection rate for the neurowise files collected here is 28%. Please read on for more details.
You'll probably see neurowise when running the file. The publisher name shows up as the "Verified publisher" in the UAC dialog as the screenshot shows:
You can also view the neurowise certificate with the following steps:
Here's a screenshot of a file digitally signed by neurowise:
As you can see in the screenshot above, the Windows OS reports that "This digital signature is OK". This implies that the file has been published by neurowise and that no one has tampered with the file.
If you click the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above, you can examine all the details of the certificate, such as when it was issued, who issued the certificate, how long it is valid, etc. You can also view the address for neurowise, such as the street name, city and country.
VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2010 CA has issued the neurowise certificates. You can also see the details of the issuer by clicking the View Certificate button shown in the screenshot above.
These are the neurowise files I have gathered, thanks to the FreeFixer users.
